Be Sweet Publications was created to teach children geography and history of Georgia. We use children's books featuring fictional characters who visit real life places. The characters names are "Yumion," our state vegetable and "Jeremiah," our state amphibian. The Yumion series was the creation of two Georgia teachers, Pam Alexander and Rhonda Frost Petty. The Jeremiah series was written and illustrated by Pam Alexander and rhymed by Ruby Smith-Lloyd.           Pam and John meet President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter in Plains, GA Rhonda Frost Petty, 1st Lady Sandra Deal and Pam Alexander     Lady Sandra Deal uses the Yumion books in her platform of "Read Across GA Mrs. Deal reads "Yumion Goes to the City" to students
